    Japan, Tunisia provided a soft loan worth about 300 million euros, to complete the desalination plant of sea water in the center of Sfax, located east of the country.

    This loan extends over 25 years, including 7 years are exempt, and an interest rate estimated at 1.7% annually.

    The implementation of the project for water desalination in the city of Sfax, the first implementation of the commitments of Tokyo launched at the International Investment Forum "Tunisia 2020", which was held last November that.

    According to the company "Tunisian studies for the exploitation and distribution of water", this project will contribute to supporting the company's ability to produce drinking water, as it will in the first phase of about 100 thousand tons per day of potable water for additional drinking in Greater Sfax, which is the second largest Tunisian cities.
