Ministry of wealth: we will not issue oil to Turkey, but the agreement with the federal government

    Sulaymaniyah / News:

The Ministry of Natural Resources and oil in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Sunday, that work on the extension of oil pipelines to Turkey will expire at the end of this year, stressing that the province will not issue oil to Turkey only after agreement with the federal government.

The adviser said the ministry, Ali Hassan in a statement received by the agency "View News", a copy of "The Ministry of Natural Resources and Oil is working to develop the oil sector through contracts signed with international companies to explore for oil in parts of the region in order to export it to the outside."

.He added that "the Kurdistan region of Iraq has no intention of doing any unilateral step to export oil to Turkey without reaching an agreement with the federal government."

It is worth mentioning that the oil and gas law and the powers granted to the province constitute points of contention between the federal government and the Kurdistan region of Iraq, where it is still legal under discussion in the Federal Parliament, and that the issue of oil form the main focus of the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's recent visit to Arbil.
