Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said he would not meet Turkey's invitation to visit Turkey until the last Turkish soldier leaves northern Iraq. He said he would inform Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloudoglu, who is visiting Baghdad.
"The visit of the Turkish foreign minister to Baghdad is cherished and any visit by any private official from neighboring countries because our policy depends on the establishment of good-neighborly relations and respect for the sovereignty of Iraq," Abadi said in a statement to the weekly Al-Maaloumah newspaper. .
"There is an old invitation by the Turkish government to visit Ankara, but I maintain my previous position that I would only visit Ankara after the withdrawal of the last Turkish soldier from northern Iraq," Abadi said.
