The Australian Supreme Court ruled that Australian Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and four other politicians were not eligible for public office because of dual nationality.

"Its decision means that three politicians, including Joyce, were wrongly elected to public office, while two others left office in July," the court said.

"We respect the court's decision, we live in a wonderful democracy, taking into account the checks and balances that have been given to us, we see these freedoms," Joyce said in response to the decision. Deliberations ".

The decision to strip Joyce of his position deprives the government of the majority of one seat in parliament, but he can regain his seat through the by-elections.

The deputy prime minister, who gave up New Zealand's citizenship last August, pledged to run in the by-elections to regain his seat in the lower chamber of the Australian parliament.
