The Argentine navy confirmed that it received information indicating an explosion on the last day of the missing San Juan submarine, near its last known location.
"They told us of a single, short, strong, non-nuclear phenomenon that coincides with an explosion," said Enrique Palpe, a spokesman for the Argentine navy.
According to Palby, Argentina obtained this information from representatives of Austria, noting that it was in line with the point that the United States had reported. There was a "hydrostatic phenomenon (sound waves under water)".
The contact with the Argentinean submarine "San Juan" was lost on 15 November, while en route from the port of Oshua to the city of Mar del Plata, with 44 people with sufficient oxygen reserves for 6 days.
