Badr warns of American "plans" to expand military bases

The Badr parliamentary bloc on Sunday warned of the existence of "plans" to expand US military bases, stressing that Iraq does not need trainers or advisers today and can resort to other countries in that.
A member of the bloc MP Ali al-Morshedi said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "America is using its tricks and invoking the existence of an advocate and training of Iraqi forces for a long-term presence in Iraq," noting that "the prime minister has become obliged to take out foreign forces, Of foreign advisers and expertise in order to control the security situation in the country. "
"Although Iraq needs advisers and expertise, many countries other than the United States and its allies have military and intelligence expertise and can help Iraq and support it in combating terrorism and maintaining security," he said.
"There are plans to expand US bases in Iraq instead of reducing them and handing them over to the Iraqi forces, where they are working from time to time to strengthen this presence, amid a large parliamentary and popular rejection against US expansion in Iraq." Ending / 25
