Silliman to the Minister of Oil: We want to cooperate with Iraq in the field of oil and gasMinister of Oil Jabbar al-Allaibi stressed the importance of strengthening relations and developing them in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry, pointing out that the ministry seeks to attract companies and investments to achieve global strategic projects, while US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Silliman expressed his country's desire to cooperate with Iraq in the oil and gas industry.
"Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Hussein al-Luaib received the US ambassador to Baghdad, Douglas Seelman," the oil ministry said in a statement. "The meeting discussed means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector."
Al-Luaibi stressed on the importance of strengthening relations and developing them in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry, calling for increasing the presence of US oil companies and their participation in investment in this sector as well as in the sectors of refineries and infrastructure.
He pointed out that "the ministry seeks to attract international companies and investments to achieve strategic projects that provide the state budget with additional financial returns during the development of this vital sector important."
For his part, US Ambassador Douglas Silliman, "the desire of his country's companies to strengthen cooperation with Iraq at all levels, especially in the oil industry gas."
The United States often asserts its support for Iraq in all fields, while insisting on investing in oil and gas through its world leading companies in this field.
