    North Korea is celebrating the birthday of Kim Il-sung, the current leader of the country, Kim Jong-un.

    The most important observations recorded by the photographers' cameras that monitored the arrival of the North Koreans at the tomb of Kim Il Sung to put the wreaths to commemorate him, a wreath hung on behalf of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on this occasion.

    What is remarkable about the president's initiative is that it comes in the wake of the Western strike against Syria, which Pyongyang has not condemned, and has not even commented on in a word in solidarity with the Syrians, as has been the custom in the relations between the two countries.

    Observers, however, attribute the northern silence to the current truce between Boeing and Washington.

    Among the new features on this year's "Day of the Sun" is that no signs or posters of North Korean missiles, denunciations and defiance of the West have appeared on the streets of the north.

    Pyongyang on Saturday held an official meeting on the occasion, during which Kim Jong-un delivered a speech in which he did not mention the successes of his country in nuclear and missile programs, as has been the practice over the past years.
