The Middle East chief executive of Goldman Sachs said the bank had proposed a multi-billion dollar deal to a government-owned entity without naming him.
"Goldman Sachs" is expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia by increasing the number of its employees in the Kingdom, obtaining a license to trade shares on the Riyadh Stock Exchange, and participating in key deals, including IPO of international bonds issued by Saudi Arabia.
This is not the first activity of the US bank in the Kingdom. Goldman Sachs has already been involved in major deals. Last year, he advised Jabal Omar to consider possible merger with Umm Al Qura Development Company.
Goldman Sachs is likely to run the IPO of Saudi Aramco, which could become the world's largest IPO.
