The head of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Jaafar al-Hamdani, blamed the rise in food prices during the holy month of Ramadan to the recent government measures that put restrictions on trade movement.
"The rise in prices in the holy month of Ramadan is due to the closure of border crossings and the complex procedures imposed on traders," Hamdani said in his interview with Al-Iraqiya News .
He pointed out that "the closure of border ports and the issuance of the General Authority for ports complex instructions and procedures contribute to impose a lot of restrictions on traders ."
And Al-Hamdani, "The restrictions in the end lead to delay the removal of goods, which is reflected negatively on citizens and their public life ."
