Turkey pledges to build two border crossings with Iraq

The head of the border crossing points Kazim al-Aqabi on Tuesday expressed the commitment of the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz to open two border ports between the two countries to facilitate trade movement between the two countries.
"The punishment was received in his office today, Turkish Ambassador Fatih Yildiz and his accompanying delegation," the statement said.
He added that "the two sides discussed the activation of prospects for cooperation and the strengthening of the joint relations between the two countries. The opening of two border ports from the Iraqi side of the port of Vishkhabur and the Turkish side of the port of Avakoy were discussed, thus enhancing trade movement and achieving a smooth flow of goods between the two countries."
The statement added that "the Turkish side pledged to build the Iraqi port and strengthen it with the necessary infrastructure."
