New and ongoing developments in US-Russian relations since the meeting between Presidents Putin and Trump in Helsinki; despite the statements that brought positive news of agreements between the parties and prepare for new meetings and an official invitation to Putin to visit Washington, all of this ended and the differences returned again.

The White House said on Wednesday that the upcoming summit between Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin would not be held in 2018, saying it should take place after the conclusion of the investigation by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.

"The president believes that the next bilateral meeting with President Putin should take place as soon as the offensive against Russia ends, so we decided to hold the summit next year," National Security Adviser John Bolton said.

Putin and Trump met a few days ago in the Finnish capital of Helsinki, drawing criticism at Trump, who was described as weak by US politicians who criticized his remarks about the alleged Russian intervention in his presidential election to the White House in 2016.

Moller, who investigates the possible intervention did not address the Any timetable for ending his investigations.

For his part, said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, that the United States refuses to recognize Russia's claims of sovereignty over the Ukrainian Crimea, and calls on Moscow to end its occupation of the region.

"The United States rejects Russia's attempt to annex the Crimea and vows to preserve this policy until the restoration of Ukrainian territorial integrity," Pompeo said in a statement. "The United States calls on Russia to respect the principles it has always adhered to and to end its occupation of the Crimea."
