issued the Foreign Ministry , Sunday, a clarification on the Iraqi citizen incident with the Spanish embassy motorcade.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed up on the incident of Omar Khalid during the convoy of the Spanish embassy after being informed of the incident by the injured people on Thursday, the second of August," ministry spokesman Ahmed Mahjoub said in a statement.
He added that "the ministry has continued urgently with the embassy and the relevant investigative authorities," noting that "it informed the ministry in turn the security authorities need to register the case and not to interfere with diplomatic immunity."
"The ministry continues to follow up with the embassy and the investigating bodies to find out the circumstances of the incident,"
