expressed Kuwait , expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of the Iraqi government with the International Committee of the Red Cross ( ICRC ) in the Kuwaiti prisoners of war who lost during the Iraqi invasion file early nineties of the last century, where Kuwait hopes to close this file open for nearly 27 years. "Since 2004, the fate of any missing person has not been identified and no progress has been made," 

said Kuwaiti delegate to the United Nations Mansour al-Otaibi.

Al-Otaibi added that his country appreciates the efforts of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which chairs the tripartite committee and its technical committee, expressing his gratitude for the cooperation of the Iraqi government with the Committee on the issue of Kuwaiti and other missing prisoners. 

The Kuwaiti representative to the United Nations said during a meeting of the Security Council that "Kuwait hopes to continue these efforts and doubled to close the file of the missing and end the suffering of their families 

According to memorandums of understanding signed between Iraq and Kuwait in 1991, a tripartite committee was formed, And the Kuwaitis, after the Kuwaiti side submitted a list of 605 missing Kuwaitis, while the Iraqi side provided a list of 5864 missing Iraqis.
