Kuwait warns of the threat of terrorist capture of countries neighboring Syria and Iraq

Kuwait warns of the threat of terrorist capture of countries neighboring Syria and Iraq

Abdullah Al-Munikh, Permanent Representative of the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]delegation to the United Nations, called for measures to ensure respect for human rights, the rule of law, transparent rule, peaceful coexistence among religions, respect for their symbols and sanctities and the conditions conducive to the spread of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .

During his speech to the Security Council, al-Munikh said that although the danger posed by the so-called "da'ash" in Iraq and Syria has decreased, it is still capable of forming a threat to regional and international peace and security with an estimated strength of 20,000 fighters.

The phenomenon of returnees, mobile people and their families of foreign terrorist fighters posed a threat to their countries or third countries because of their field experience.

Al-Munikh praised the support provided by the United Nations to Member States in the area of capacity-building to combat terrorism. He pointed out that social media continue to be an important source of terrorist groups to spread their extremist ideologies. This calls for concerted international efforts to take measures to prevent these groups. Of the exploitation and response of technology and communications.
