WASHINGTON: The terrorist threat exists despite a crushing defeat in Iraq and Syria

"The terrorist threat is adapting, but it remains, despite the military defeats of a sympathetic organization in Iraq and Syria," an annual US government report said.
"Despite the successes we have achieved, the terrorist scene is becoming more complicated in 2017," said State Department counterterrorism coordinator Nathan Sills.
"A strong and resilient organization has demonstrated resilience, resilience and adaptability to the growing pressure in the fight against terrorism in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and elsewhere," he said.
He pointed out that the two organizations are "more dispersed and working more clandestinely (which makes them) less vulnerable to conventional military operations."

"With the defeat of a field advocate, he continued to move from a central command structure to a more fluid model," he said, stressing that the choice of targets, the timing of attacks and the means used were "increasingly entrusted to the terrorists themselves" in different countries.

On the other hand, Iran considered the United States "the first country to support terrorism in the world," adding that Tehran was "responsible for the escalation of many conflicts," referring to the threat of "truly global."
Other countries Washington accuses of supporting terrorism are also Syria and Sudan and since last year North Korea.
