    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump's envoy, Barrett McGraw, congratulated Barham Salih on his victory in the presidency of the republic in what he called the "old friend."

    "We congratulate Barham Salih, our old friend, for his new election as President of the Republic of Iraq," McGourke said in a tweet via Twitter.

    He added: "We urge the completion of the process of forming a national government, and we hope that President Saleh will succeed in serving all the Iraqi people."

    BAGHDAD (Reuters) - US President George W. Bush's envoy to Iraq and the International Alliance on Wednesday sent a letter to outgoing Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, congratulating him on the formation of a new Iraqi government.
    "Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi led Iraq in the darkest period of the last four years and congratulates his successor, Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi," McGourke said in a eulogy for Abbadi.
    "We are eternally grateful for the leadership of the steadfast Prime Minister who has mobilized our efforts to help Iraq defeat an impassioned," McGowork said.
