was the commander of the Second World War is George HW Bush, and included the most prominent political positions, from the member of Congress to delegate to the United Nations, the head of the Republican Party and envoy to China, director of the Central Intelligence Agency, to the vice - president for two years with the president with Popular tyrant Ronald Reagan .

Bush led the United States during the end of the Cold War and defeated Saddam Hussein's former regime , but lost the chance to win a second term, breaking his pledge not to impose new taxes.

Bush, the 41st president of the United States, has lived longer than his predecessors.

George Herbert Walker Bush grew up in an aristocratic family from the New England area, making him join his 18th birthday in the armed forces. Although he was the youngest fighter pilot, he carried out 58 combat missions in World War II.

In one of his combat missions - as a torpedo bomber - he was targeted by Japanese counter-fire over the Pacific, while an American submarine rescued him from shark-infested waters.

He was awarded the Order of Brave Labor in a war that almost ended until he married a woman who would become the love of his life, Barbara Pearce.

The marriage was about to break the record to become the longest in the history of US presidents, to the age of 73, and they had six children, one of them Robin, who died in his childhood, and George W. Bush, who became president for two periods, in addition to 17 grandchildren.

The death of George HW Bush comes months after the death of his wife last April, and since her departure has become a wheelchair.

The Way to the White House

After graduating from Yale, Bush embarked on his new job in the Texas oil industry that would have made him a millionaire. But in the footsteps of his father, who was a senator, he became interested in politics and public service and served two terms as a congressional representative.

After eight years as Vice President Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush became the 41st President of the United States.

His presidential term, which lasted from 1989 to 1993, coincided with the end of the cold war.

In 1990, he declared the "New World Order" and led the campaign to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait by Operation Desert Storm, but saw intervention in the Middle East as a harbinger of future chaos.

The Gulf War of 1991 jumped in popularity, but was then chased by his decision to break his pledge to voters when he said, "Follow my lips, not new taxes."

After retreating from this decision in the midst of a weak economy, voters removed him from office after the end of his first term. He was defeated in 1992 by his Democratic rival Bill Clinton.

Nevertheless, he lived to see his son George W. Bush elect a president twice - only for the second time in history, after John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

In the years following his presidency, George HW was seen as a good-will leader, but he was not an exciting or visionary.

Leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) leaders at their summit in Buenos Aires this week are eating a menu of traditional Argentinean foods ranging from beef, mutton and sausage sandwiches.

Between sessions to discuss international trade, the global economy and climate change, leaders of the group will have the chance to taste meat-rich Argentine dishes at Friday's and Saturday's summit, Reuters said .

At a time when Argentina is beefing up its meat exports to China and the United States, she hopes the G20 menu will be an opportunity to showcase her favorite foods.

Many Argentines boast large steaks from cattle fed on grass in the country's green plains, and red wine usually comes in.

"The aim of the menu is to show the distinctive taste of Argentine cuisine, seasonal products and foods that represent us as a country," said Tommy Burleberger, the chef who owns the food company at the summit.

"During Friday's luncheon, the leaders took the bone-free rib-free, and for the dessert they ate fruit cakes with coconut ice cream and caramel-condensed milk," he said.

At the dinner at the famous Teatro Colon Theater, there was the king crab, famous for the Patagonia region of southern Argentina. "At Saturday's dinner, the lamb from Patagonia will be the main course," Berlberger said.

But the star of the top menu would be the shrimp, which is a hot ham sandwich grilled on the charcoal served in appetizers.

Maybe they will buy some of our products one day, "said Pearlberger.
