Baghdad Council today chooses Falah al-Jazairi as the new governor of the capital

BAGHDAD / The provincial council of Baghdad on Saturday, an extraordinary session to choose the Algerian farmer as a new governor of the capital, succeeding Atwan al-Atwani, who won the membership of the House of Representatives for a coalition of state law.
Council member Saad Al-Muttalibi told "Eye of Iraq News", that "we are still on our position to choose our candidate Falah al-Algerian for the post of governor of Baghdad, indicating that the voting session on the governor will be held today at the good hotel.
He added that "the members of the Council are now coming to the meeting room and from the first glance it seems that the quorum of the session will be completed because there are a large number of members inside the hall."
It is noteworthy that the Baghdad Provincial Council held earlier in the session in the building of the Council chose Fadhil al-Shuwaili of the Sadrist movement for the post of governor of Baghdad, a successor to Al-Atwani, who announced that he did not resign from office and did not take the constitutional oath as a member of the House of Representatives for a coalition of state law.
