The leader of the al-Fath alliance, the secretary-general of the Badr Organization, is participating in ending the presence of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Iraq, Turkish ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz said on Saturday.
Yildiz said in a statement today that "he met Amiri and that the latter pointed to the need to put an end to PKK presence in Iraq, especially in Sinjar."
"I have made clear to him our aspirations on this subject," he said, stressing that "we must cooperate with Iraq in the fight against terrorism."
Turkey has threatened several times to launch military operations in Iraqi territory to eliminate the articles of the PKK and so far still carried out air strikes in areas of the Kurdistan region under the pretext of targeting the party.
