    The Council of Representatives held on Tuesday under the auspices of Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of the Council, a discussion session entitled "Our national industry pride", during which the dimensions of the economic agreement with Jordan, ways to promote the Iraqi industrial sector and support the public and private sectors were discussed.
    The meeting was attended by Mr. Hassan Jalal, Chairman of the Committee on Economy and Investment, a number of deputies, Saleh Al-Jubouri, Minister of Industry and Minerals, and the advanced cadres of the ministry, in addition to the heads of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Iraqi Industries.
    Al-Kaabi said during the meeting that "the year 2019 will see a real start different from previous years towards the support of the economy and investment and the private sector and the promotion of the important non-oil sectors, especially agriculture and industry, which suffered great neglect, which resulted in a country depends entirely on oil revenues, In the crystallization of this vision of security and economic crises and lack of resources and returns, and forced those involved in the management of this file to identify the reasons and develop solutions.
    "The partnership between the state and the private sector has become binding for both the government and the parliament, and we have to prepare and prepare projects that deserve this participation and the nomination of investment projects."
    The session highlighted the dimensions of the economic agreement signed with the Jordanian side. Al-Kaabi said that "many parties are concerned about this agreement and believe that it will negatively affect the economic sectors, especially industry.
    He added that the new policy of the government also has its objectives and charted a strategy to harness this economy to achieve greater benefits, including the establishment of a joint industrial city that can absorb thousands of manpower, move the sectors of transport, communications and taxes, and most importantly create an investment environment in Anbar province, Resources ".
     For his part, the Minister of Industry said that "the ministry is currently striving to achieve full partnership with the private sector and gave our public companies the power to contract and partnership with any foreign company or local."
    On the agreement with Jordan, the minister said that it is not the result of the moment, but was preceded by studies and discussions lasted three years through a committee representing 17 sectoral bodies. The first beneficiary will be the private sector. The industrial city will be shared with Jordan, which includes commercial centers, tourism and factories. With commercial relations, but through the Jordanian side, which has large partnerships and agreements, not to mention the provision of more than 40 thousand jobs.
    The minister said that the Iraqi private sector that this agreement is not fully binding, but contains many conditions and retreat through the Commission every six months and any negative impact on any sector will be handled by the Joint Committee, and can withhold any goods produced locally.
    The meeting concluded with several recommendations, including the Minister of Industry to hold periodic meetings, each of which is devoted to discussing a specific industrial sector and inviting all sectors of the business sector and federations, as well as the need to submit sectoral observations and reservations on the latest agreement or any other agreement, To the government for the purpose of following up. "
