    announced the Basra Gas Company, on Thursday, signing a contract with a Chinese company to build a treatment plant for natural gas, and considered that the project would reduce the associated gas flaring and increasing production capacity by 40%. 

    "The Basrah Gas Company signed a contract with the Chinese Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company (CPECC) to build a natural gas facility in the Artawi region consisting of two units to produce an additional 400 cubic meters of gas per day," the company said in a statement received by Alsumaria News.     It is worth mentioning that Basrah Gas Company is a joint venture that will last for 25 years starting from 2013. The company owns 51% of the company, while Shell owns 44%. Mitsubishi Japan holds 5% And treatment of approximately 59% of the associated gas in the fields covered by the first licensing round.
