BAGHDAD / NNC - The Minister of Housing and Construction on Tuesday announced the return of life to 60 percent of the projects stalled, as well as the withdrawal of the hands of some companies lagging.
"The work is underway on the international highway between Nasiriyah and Samawah, but there are sluggish companies working on two sections of the street. We will withdraw the project from them," Bankeen Rikani told SNG.
"The project will end within 8 to 9 months," Rikani said. "The delay is due to a number of reasons, including misappropriation and mismanagement of projects, because their delay will cause many problems, including the death or travel of the entrepreneur."
He pointed out that his ministry "working day and night to restore life to 60 percent of the projects stalled, and solving financial and administrative problems," noting that "the ministry is re-design of a section of the street of Samawah - Afak - Al - Badir.
Most of the projects are suffering from austerity policy pursued by the previous government, in conjunction with the liberation of land from the control of an organization calling on many areas in the north and west of the country.
