The former prime minister, Haider al-Abadi, on Monday, talk about the formation of a parliamentary majority aimed at toppling the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi.
"If we want to overthrow the government, we have to form a parliamentary majority, and this requires alliances that we have not yet reached, although there is dialogue," Abadi said in an interview with Al Arabiya Net.
He added: "We do not deny that the presence of opposition blocs and loyalty, within the Iraqi parliament of the elements of democratic action in Iraq, and the formation of an opposition front needs constitutional and official steps, and how to form this front, do we form it from one small bloc? There will be a very small bloc does not affect The political scene, so we need strong opposition, to influence and correct the course of government. "
Abadi continued: "The ineffective opposition is a loud voice empty. There are also some blocs rush to declare itself opposition, to say, I am an opposition, and this is not our approach, and what concerns us is to address with others to achieve the goal."
