Parliament unanimously votes on the Commission's new law .. and adjourns its session for next week

The Iraqi parliament voted on Thursday evening unanimously on the Electoral Commission Act, while the Council postponed the vote on the general election law for next week's session.
The new law provides for the transfer of officials of the current Independent Electoral Commission for retirement, and the formation of a new commission to ensure free and fair elections, and the 27-paragraph law stipulates that the members of the Commission are [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] not parties, in addition to members of the Judicial Council in the Kurdistan Region .
In addition to the Commission's law, the Council also voted on the "Presidency Proposal"; to send the names of the members of the Commission selected to the Presidency for ratification and to issue a presidential decree within 15 days.
It is worth mentioning that Thursday's session, which was held by the Council is its twenty-first session of the current legislative chapter, and chaired by "Mohammed Halbousi", and included in the agenda of the meeting vote on the law of the Commission only
