Al-Fateh coalition denied, on Sunday, an agreement to re-assign resigned Prime Minister [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] head the government again, stressing the absence of a new candidate for prime minister.
"There is no agreement to re-assign Abd al-Mahdi to head the government," coalition spokesman MP Ahmad al-Asadi said in a televised statement to his follower, Al-Maalouma.
Al-Asadi added, "We do not have a new candidate for the presidency, and we are with the national consensus on any non-dialectical national figure who accomplishes tasks at this sensitive stage."
The deputy of the Sadikoun parliamentary bloc, Ahmed Al-Kinani, had confirmed in a previous statement to "Al-Maalouma", that the talk about restoring confidence to the resigned Prime Minister [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is incorrect, pointing out that the political forces failed to choose an alternative figure for Abdul-Mahdi.
