[size=18]The head of the Al-Hikma Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, stressed today, Tuesday, the need to nominate an "independent, competent, non-controversial, capable" figure for managing the country in the transitional period, stressing the preparation for early elections and the restoration of state prestige and the trust of citizens.

Al-Hakim said in a statement, Alsumaria News received a copy of it, "We received Eric Shannon, the Canadian Ambassador in Baghdad, and we affirmed the launching of Iraq in its relations with neighboring countries and the world from the principles of the supreme national interest and common interests and respect for the sovereignty of Iraq and non-interference in its affairs."

Al-Hakim also stressed "the necessity of resolving the candidate of the next transitional prime minister," stressing the need to "nominate an independent, competent, non-dialectical figure capable of managing the country in the transitional phase, preparing for early elections, and restoring state prestige and citizens' trust."

Al-Hakim said, "We discussed during the meeting the developments of the regional and international situation, Iraq’s relations with Canada, and ways of strengthening them to benefit the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples."
