Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Karim Alaiwi, accused the US embassy in Iraq of supporting and financing some satellite channels and social media sites with the aim of sabotaging Iraq.
Aliwi said in a statement followed by "Al-Ahed News", that "satellite channels and pages on social media sites funded from abroad, cause tension and chaos that occur in Iraq, by transmitting toxins continuously through the transmission of false news and hosting analysts and sectarian and non-neutral researchers."
He continued, "We asked the government to withhold it and prevent the continuation of its work and we are awaiting its response in order to get rid of it," stressing that "the embassy seeks to ruin Iraq, as it targets all national parties, and not only the friendly forces of Iran."
