Ministry of Health revealed, on Tuesday, that it was considering recruiting foreign medical teams to work in Iraqi hospitals.
Health Minister Hassan al-Tamimi said, according to the government’s media, that his ministry “continues in a serious and real way to take exceptional preventive measures to confront the Corona pandemic since its first appearance, and Iraq has succeeded well in controlling the spread of Corona and we are trying to completely control the epidemic despite a record increase in HIV infection rates during this period. "
He added, "The ministry started taking measures to deal with the virus in a way that is compatible with the speed of its containment, as the ministry today has 12 laboratories for testing and conducting thousands of tests daily by identifying the areas where more infections are recorded through field teams that have formed in Baghdad and the rest of the provinces with the aim of conducting Field survey of those areas. "
And that "the measures are preventive and not remedial measures to control the epidemic, in addition to focusing on media awareness that the Prime Minister focused on to prevent the pandemic threat."
He added that "the services currently provided in our hospitals for the injured are very ideal, in addition to having professional medical staff with high efficiency and experience."
The Minister of Health and Environment commended the efforts of the staffs of the Ministry of Health and Environment for what they provided for months and are still continuing to face the Corona pandemic by providing various diagnostic, curative and preventive services, as well as their other duties in providing health care at all levels.
He added, "During the past period, the Ministry endeavored early and proactively, in recognition of the seriousness of the epidemic, in cooperation with ministries, official bodies, international and regional organizations and friendly countries to take precautionary and decisive measures to advance those great risks, accompanied by continuous efforts and a relentless pursuit by the ministry's staff to stop the epidemic transmission chain." .
Al-Tamimi pointed out that "the Ministry warns again of the danger of the current state of infection rates remaining in several regions of the country, which have become epidemic outposts that can be extended and spread to other regions as a result of the failure of most of the residents of those areas to comply with partial prohibition instructions that prohibit all gatherings, and negligence in providing Requirements for sterilization and wearing of masks in the workplace, and avoid reviewing centers and hospitals when symptoms of the new Corona epidemic emerge for social and psychological reasons.
