On Sunday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee confirmed the conduct of the strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington at the end of this week, indicating that the dialogue will discuss the economic reality, education and electricity in addition to scheduling the American withdrawal from Iraq.

"The third round of the strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States of America will be held in Iraq on the seventh of this April, and it will be a continuation of the first and second round of the dialogue," said a member of the committee, Kata Al-Rikabi.
He added that "there are several axes at the level of the strategic dialogue, the most prominent of which is the removal of US forces from Iraq, and at the same time, the government has formed a special committee to schedule the exit of Americans headed by the foreign minister and the membership of the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Director of the Prime Minister's Office."
Al-Rikabi continued, "The strategic dialogue does not focus on removing the US forces from Iraq only, but there are many issues in the first and second rounds about relations between Baghdad and Washington, especially those related to security, economy, education, agriculture, electricity and oil."
And that "the House of Representatives decision on January 5, 2020 obliges the government to remove the American forces from Iraq. Therefore, the committee was formed, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to dialogue with the American side and to study the readiness of the Iraqi forces after their removal from the country."
