MP Hussein al-Maliki revealed, on Tuesday evening, information he described as "dangerous" about some parties' exploitation of the popular crowd in the previous elections, which led to the dismissal and expulsion of large numbers of them.
Al-Maliki said in a televised statement that, "After the fatwa of the reference and the mass mobilization that the government called for at the time, the people of the popular crowd joined and were not affiliated with any party or political entity," indicating that after "the stability of the situation and coinciding with the 2018 elections, the political blocs began to replace the names of the members of the crowd. Al-Shaabi, under the pretext that they do not belong to the parties. "
He added, "There are affiliates, for example from Basra and Karbala, who went on vacations to their homes, and after their return they were surprised by their transfer to Karbala or Dhi Qar, because there is a candidate for one of the parties in these governorates who needs their votes, so he is given a share of the votes of the popular crowd members who are not affiliated. "For any political party and they manipulate their names and their provinces in order to vote, and in the end the affiliate finds himself excluded from his faction and separated without any convincing reason."
Al-Maliki pointed out, "There are appeals in Parliament to some of the articles included in the budget, including the Popular Mobilization Law, which is awaiting an amendment to their equity during the coming period.
