West Texas Intermediate futures fell 14 cents, or 0.2%, to $ 63.68 a barrel. Both prices are heading to their first weekly loss in three weeks.

Today, Friday, India reported 343,144 cases of the new Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of cases to more than 24 million, while deaths from COVID-19 increased by 4,000.

In the United States, President Joe reassured Biden told motorists that fuel supplies should start to return to normal this weekend, even as more petrol stations ran out of petrol across the southeast nearly a week after a cyberattack on the nation's top fuel pipeline. Read more

Colonial Pipeline said late Thursday it had completely restarted its pipeline system and had started deliveries in all of its markets.
