Al-Kazemi's visit to Washington decides the US withdrawal decision
The White House announced that US President Joe Biden will receive Federal Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on July 26 in Washington, while a security analyst suggested the withdrawal of US forces at the end of this year.
Security analyst Ghanem Al-Aifan said in an interview with PUKmedia today, Saturday: The visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to Washington is very important for demarcating the boundaries of relations, especially since America looks at Iraq from an angle that goes beyond a moral obligation, explaining that the division still continues over the presence of US forces and there is no agreement. Popular or political for the survival of the forces or not.
He added: Many files have cast shadows on the US administration in how to draw up a policy related to the survival of forces and the activation of joint agreements, noting that the Iraqi government is benefiting from the timing through a high-level delegation heading to Washington, in order to develop the joints of the state, coordination, armament, air issues and training.
And he indicated that the United States is about to take a decision in the coming days regarding Iraq, suggesting that the American forces will remain in Iraq until the end of this year within the policy of the new US administration.
Today, the White House issued a statement that Al-Kazemi's visit to Washington will allow "confirmation of the strategic partnership" between the two countries.
The statement indicated that the US president "also looks forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Iraq on political, economic and security issues" and especially "joint efforts to ensure the enduring defeat" of ISIS.
