Baghdad train project hanging on the table of the Ministries of Planning and Transport

Today, Monday, the Ministry of Planning and Transport discussed the Baghdad suspended train project and included it in the current year's plan.
A ministry statement received by "Economy News" stated that "in the presence of the Ministers of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm and Transport Nasser Hussein Bandar Al-Shibli, the two ministries held a joint meeting, with the participation of the two ministries' undersecretaries and general managers of companies affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and the Director General of the Sectors Planning Department in the Ministry of Planning."
He added, "During the highly important meeting, the reality of public companies affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and the ongoing projects implemented by these companies were discussed."
The Minister of Planning stressed, according to the statement, that "the work of public companies, whether those affiliated with the Ministry of Transport or in the rest of the ministries, should be feasible, and that these companies contribute to supporting the gross domestic product, by achieving financial revenues commensurate with the size of the tasks they perform," noting. He pointed out that "the projects implemented by these companies must be financed from the profits achieved, and therefore, no financial allocations will be made to these companies within the general budgets for the coming years."
The projects of the Iraqi General Company for Railways, including the Baghdad suspended train project, were discussed, and the importance of including it in the current year's plan, after completing the requirements for inclusion, and the project to purchase a number of Boeing aircraft to develop the work of the Iraqi Airways Company.
