, a source in the government confirmed, on Thursday, that the statements made by the Prime Minister's Advisor for Elections Affairs, Muhannad Naim, express his personal view and do not reflect the government's view.
In an interview with Mawazine News, the source indicated that "some statements have been distorted from their intentions by some websites and web pages."
He added that "the positions related to the security aspect are issued only by the competent security authorities and the spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and that the role of Counselor Muhannad Naim is to advise the Prime Minister exclusively on some aspects related to ensuring electoral security and the conduct of the electoral process."
