    The Directorate of Human Development in the Ministry of Planning intends to update the National Population Policies Document, while it will soon begin work on preparing the 2021 Human Development Report for Iraq.
    Maha Abdul Karim Al-Rawi, Director-General of the department, said: "The department is working to update the national document on population policies, and formed a committee headed by the Minister of Planning, Dr. Khaled Battal, and the membership of the general managers of the departments of the ministry concerned with this issue, and a number of experts and specialists in the field of statistics from Iraqi universities, As well as international experts.
    She added, "An executive plan was developed to update the document with the aim of developing a flexible population policy that responds to the demographic changes that Iraqi society is exposed to, and it is important that this document be consistent and integrated with other policies, as a population document cannot be developed unless employment, health, spatial and rural development policies respond to it." Education and women’s empowerment.” And she indicated that "the department will soon work on preparing the Human Development Report for Iraq, which was last issued in 2014, and for this it is necessary to issue a new updated report, and it will have a title revolving around the youth."
    Al-Rawi added that "the department is concerned with drawing up human development policies related to social development policies and various files, such as youth, childhood, people with disabilities, special needs, the elderly, health, women's economic empowerment policies, employment, workforce, population, education and higher education," noting that it "always needs to update databases and access On information and data, as a result of various surveys and surveys that support the work of the department in the areas of health, the labor market, employment and unemployment in Iraq.”
