Shafaq News/ The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomatic Affairs Mahdi Safari stressed on Wednesday the need to double trade exchange with Iraq.
Safari said during a meeting of the Iranian Foreign Economic Relations Coordination Committee that the border problems with Iraq must be resolved in order to expand trade exchange by up to twice the volume of the current trade exchange, according to Iranian media.
During the meeting, Safari presented a report on his recent visits to Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region with the aim of identifying and removing obstacles that hinder the development of economic relations, and stressed the possibility of expanding trade between the two countries by up to twice the current exchange volume after solving the existing border problems.
