"Unknown reasons" impede the resumption of work in an oil complex in western Iraq.. Photos
Shafaq News/ A local official in western Iraq saw, on Wednesday, that "unknown" reasons stand in the way of resuming work in an oil complex for export despite its rehabilitation.
The mayor of Al-Qaim district, west of Anbar Governorate, Ahmed Al-Mahlawi, told Shafaq News Agency, that "unknown" reasons stand in the way of the process of exporting oil to Jordan, despite the completion of all logistical work in the "T1" oil complex, located in the district (western Iraq).
Al-Mahlawi added, "All logistical matters at the T-One oil station are ready, especially those related to the pumping station, in addition to the readiness of loading stations, meters, and yards for harboring trucks and tanks, adding" until now, the reasons are still unknown regarding the delay in opening the station and exporting oil. towards Jordan.
Al-Mahlawi explained, "The matter is related to the North Oil Company, and the Ministry of Oil" in particular.
For his part, Adviser to the Anbar Governor for Energy Affairs, Aziz Khalaf Al-Tarmouz, confirmed the completion of the rehabilitation of the (T-One) oil complex in coordination with the Federal Oil Ministry, explaining that the complex includes a pumping station that was processing 750,000 barrels per day during the years before the fall of the former regime, and is exported to Jordan.
Now, Tarmouz says, "After rehabilitating the station, it has become possible to export 250,000 barrels."
Al-Tarmuz added, to Shafaq News Agency, that "the complex also includes residential houses and related departments associated with the North Oil Company," noting that his station "is one of the important stations in the field of oil export in Iraq."
Al-Tarmuz stressed that "the resumption of the station's work will lead to providing job opportunities for large numbers of the unemployed, in addition to operating the transport fleet in Anbar, which includes more than ten thousand tank cars, and also contributes to increasing the revenues of the Trebil port, and activates the economic movement in all western regions." from Anbar.
An advisor to the Governor of Anbar pointed out that "the process of transporting crude oil to the station will be through a transfer from Kirkuk, then Baiji, then Haditha, all the way to the Qaim district, through oil pipelines, which have been completely rehabilitated by the Ministry of Oil, and are ready for transportation and export." ".
Al-Tarmuz called on the Ministry of Oil to “start resuming the work of the station, especially after completing the rehabilitation work in it, by the North Oil Company,” stressing that “there is no reason preventing the Ministry of Oil from not resuming the work of the station, but the matter depends on the decision to start.” ".
It is worth noting that the station has been suspended for more than 18 years, since the entry of US forces into Iraq, and it was also destroyed and robbed during the ISIS control over Anbar.
