Al-Kazemi pledges to follow up on the Maysan situation “in person”: Iraq is going through very complex political conditions
Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi pledged on Wednesday to follow up on the situation in Maysan Governorate, which is witnessing a deterioration in the security situation, considering at the same time that the country is "going through very complex political conditions" against the background of the failure to name a president for Iraq, and the lack of Formation of the new federal government.
"Today we are going through very complicated political circumstances," Al-Kazemi said during his meeting with the leaders of the security services in Maysan province, adding that this stage is pivotal and important, and no one is allowed to exploit these circumstances to spread chaos.
He called on "security, political, and social forces without exception" to "move quickly and assume their responsibilities," warning that "chaos is merciless to anyone, and everyone will pay the price. We must work together and cooperate to reach the desired results."
Al-Kazemi went on to say: Today we are here in Maysan Governorate to tell the criminals: You will receive harsh punishment, and no one believes that he can rise above the law, or seek to spread chaos without being held accountable.
He also noted that "quick measures should be taken to address the repercussions," saying: We have directed the formation of the Maysan Operations Command, and we will work to re-establish the security plan to address the violations.
The Prime Minister said that he will personally follow up the situation of the governorate from the joint security command day by day, and all criminals will be arrested and handed over to the judiciary, and the most severe penalties will be imposed on them, stressing that “no one is above the law, and no one is allowed to bypass the state and its institutions.”
"We will provide all support to the judiciary in Maysan and to the security services, and all that the security forces need in order to establish security and implement the law," he said.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces called on the residents to "help the security forces and cooperate with them," appealing to "the sons of the tribes not to allow some who have their whims to drag them into fanaticism and alignments outside the framework of the state."
Al-Kazemi urged "to pay attention to several things, including: our absolute rejection of some people's investment in the local political scene, and turning the country into an arena for settling accounts that sometimes go beyond the borders of the country," noting that "Iraq will not be an arena for settling accounts, and the clock will not turn back."
Al-Kazemi added, "The stability of Iraq means the stability of the region, and chaos in Iraq means its expansion in the region, and no one wants that," noting that "dragging problems inside Iraq or creating them in a province here or there, or involving Iraq with problems abroad is totally unacceptable." In detail."
The Prime Minister concluded his speech by saying that "Iraq's involvement in this delicate circumstance in any similar confrontations, whether internal or external, does not benefit us, but harms us all."
Al-Kazemi arrived in Maysan province, earlier today, accompanied by the Ministers of Defense and Interior, and a number of leaders of the security services.
Judge Ahmed Faisal Al-Saadi was brutally assassinated last Saturday, after he received 15 bullets from unidentified gunmen in Al-Moalemeen neighborhood in front of the notary public building in the center of Al-Amarah city, according to what a security source told the agency.
On Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq strongly condemned the assassination of the judge in charge of drug cases in Maysan Governorate, calling on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to reconsider the security leadership responsible for the security and stability of the province.
Subsequently, Al-Kazemi ordered the formation of the Maysan Operations Command, to assume command and control of all security services in the province, and assigned Major General Muhammad Al-Zubaidi the tasks of the operations command there.
And yesterday, Tuesday, the head of the National Security Apparatus, Hamid Al-Shatri, decided to relieve the director of Maysan Governorate security from his post, according to a brief statement issued by the Security Media Cell.
