Kurdistan Democratic Party MP Sharif Suleiman confirmed, on Wednesday, that the Democratic Party candidate, Hoshyar Zebari, will return to the presidential race in a few days, while expressing his hope that the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement will agree on forming the government.
Suleiman said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", "The leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Hoshyar Zebari, is the candidate of the national majority, which includes the Sadrist bloc, the Sovereignty Alliance and the Democratic Party."
He added that "the decision of the Federal State Court does not mean the cancellation of Zebari's candidacy," noting that "the Kurdistan Democratic Party hopes to reach an agreement between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement to form the new government."
On opening the door for candidacy for the post of President of the Republic, Suleiman confirmed that "Hoshyar Zebari is the only national majority candidate for the position of President of the Republic," stressing that "Zebari will return to the presidential race again." finished / 25 h
