The Information/Baghdad: The
leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Rashad Kalali, confirmed, on Saturday, that a semi-agreement had been reached with the Kurdistan Democratic Party regarding the position of the President of the Republic, while renewing his adherence to the necessity of forming a consensual government.
Kalali said in a statement to "Information", that "the meeting that took place in Erbil between the head of the Political Bureau of the National Union, Pavel Talabani, and the head of the Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, resulted in positive indicators in favor of the Kurdish component regarding the position of the President of the Republic and the formation of the federal government," noting that "The meeting of Talabani and Barzani was positive in favor of the Kurdish component."
He added that "Pavel Talabani, upon his return to Sulaymaniyah today, called the Political Bureau to hold an expanded meeting of the Political Bureau in which the results and outcomes of his meeting with Massoud Barzani will be presented."
Kalali pointed out that "a semi-agreement took place between the two parties regarding the position of the President of the Republic and the formation of the government, but this agreement must be approved by the Political Bureau of the National Union."
He pointed out that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is still sticking to its position on the consensus government and that everyone should participate in forming the next government without excluding any party." Ended / 25 AD
