The activities of the 32nd conference of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union will kick off today in Cairo, with the participation of a high-ranking delegation from Iraq headed by Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi.
Al-Halbousi arrived yesterday in Cairo with a delegation of members of the House of Representatives, and participated in a consultative meeting of heads of Arab councils and parliaments.
In the meetings of the Union, which is held under the slogan “Arab Solidarity,” the heads of parliaments and legislative councils discuss a number of issues in the Arab region, as well as discuss reports prepared by the Union’s committees in political affairs, parliamentary, financial and economic relations, women and childhood.
