Shafaq News/ A parliamentary source revealed that a dispute over the nomination of the heads of the parliamentary committees may hinder their parliamentary passage.
An informed source told Shafak News Agency; "The insistence of the leaders of the political forces to interfere in the selection of members of the parliamentary committees, as well as their sharing away from the electoral weight, prevents their passage in the House of Representatives."
He explained that "some heads of parliamentary blocs are trying to impose members who have nothing to do with the committees to be named, as the requirements for forming them, naming their members and chairing them must be analogous, meaning that the Security and Defense Committee should not have its head from the same component to which the Minister of Defense belongs, for example, and the same is true for most other committees.
He added that "the problems that also stand in the way of its passage are that everyone wants to chair the committees, category (A), which represent the sovereign ministries, while parliamentary weight is the main criterion for that."
According to the source; The main forces, which have strong parliamentary representation, accounted for the most important parliamentary committees under the pretext of their electoral merit.
The Presidency of Parliament discussed last week the formation of parliamentary committees in accordance with the approved standards and within the constitutional and legal controls.
