Linked to the economic situation .. Iraq is at the bottom of the list of countries in the Global Peace Index
Shafaq News/ Iraq ranked 154th globally in the Global Peace Index, according to a report by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The Sydney-based institute said in a report on the World Peace Index for 2022 seen by Shafak News Agency, that "positive peace is closely related to the concepts of order," noting that "countries with higher levels of positive peace are more flexible, and linked to economies of scale." They are strong and prosperous, have better performance on environmental measures, higher levels of well-being and happiness, stronger measures of social cohesion, and greater satisfaction with standards of living.”
And he indicated that "Iraq came in the last ranks in the peace index, as it ranked 154th globally out of 163 countries listed in the table.
Globally, Sweden ranked first, followed by Denmark, then Finland, third, Norway, fourth and Switzerland, fifth, while Somalia ranked last, followed by South Sudan, Yemen and the Central African Republic.
In the Arab world, the UAE ranked first and 37th globally, followed by Kuwait second and 46th globally, then Qatar third and 49th globally, while Somalia ranked 163rd, followed by Yemen 161st, Syria ranked 157th, and Eritrea ranked 156th.
