Shafaq News/ A political source reported on Monday that a verbal altercation took place between two deputies from the Triple Alliance, one from the Sadrist movement and the other from the Sovereignty Alliance, which developed into a fistfight between their protection personnel, during an inspection tour of service projects north of Baghdad.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "The representative of the Sadrist bloc, Ali Al-Saadi, and the representative of the Sovereignty Alliance, Aisha Al-Masari, accompanied by the Mayor of Baghdad, Alaa Maan, were inspecting service projects in the Bob Al-Sham area north of the capital, and each of them claimed that the credit belongs to him in completing some of these projects." .
And he indicated that "the matter developed into a verbal altercation between the two representatives, which prompted the mayor of Baghdad to withdraw from the inspection tour," noting that "the matter did not stop at the verbal altercation, but rather developed into a fistfight between the protection of Al-Saadi and Al-Masari, which led to the deputies' account as well."
This comes in conjunction with the demand of the representative of the State of Law coalition, Alia Nassif, earlier today, to prevent the Mayor of Baghdad, Alaa Maan, from traveling outside Iraq until the completion of his interrogation under the dome of Parliament, stressing that he had committed "serious" financial and legal violations.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, Nassif called on the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Supreme Judicial Council and the Public Prosecution, to "issue an order to prevent the travel of the Mayor of Baghdad, Alaa Maan Agency, outside Iraq until the completion of the preparation of the interrogation, all of whose procedures are nearing completion, and the identification of violations and violations diagnosed against this secretary." ".
And she indicated that "the request to prevent the travel of the Mayor of Baghdad is due to the presence of serious administrative, financial and legal violations caused by this secretary, and there is a fear that he will leave Iraq at any moment, especially after the availability of dozens of documents, evidence and material evidence that confirm this."
The Sadrist movement had previously demanded the removal of the Mayor of Baghdad from his position. On March 6, 2022, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hakim al-Zamili, sent an official letter to the Prime Minister requesting the withdrawal of the Secretary of Baghdad's hand in preparation for questioning in the House of Representatives.
