Al-Zamili from Erbil: Next week, we will call for a plenary session to select committees and elect the President of the Republic
Shafaq News/ Hakim al-Zamili, the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, announced on Tuesday that the parliament will set next week the date for holding a plenary session to choose its permanent parliamentary committees, and elect the new president of the republic.
Al-Zamili said in a statement to reporters today, in front of the ancient Erbil Citadel, that "next week, we will call for a plenary session that includes the selection of the permanent parliamentary committees and the election of the president of the republic."
"We have opened the door for candidacy in advance, and we hope that the new president of Iraq will be elected in the session that will be determined," he stressed.
