    The Information/Baghdad…
The Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region announced, on Saturday, that the decision to cancel customs duties on basic foodstuffs can be extended according to the political and economic conditions that Iraq and the world are going through.
The senior advisor to the ministry, Fathi Al-Mudarres, said in a statement reported by the newspaper "Al-Sabah" and seen by "The Information", that "the decision to cancel customs duties on foodstuffs, which was issued by the Council of Ministers in the region, has been implemented as of April 17 and will continue for two months."
Al-Modarres added, "This decision was taken in light of the federal government's issuance of a similar decision to cancel customs duties imposed on foodstuffs to raise the burden of high prices on citizens, especially basic needs such as oil, sugar, flour, rice, tea and beef, whose prices rose after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war. “. finished/25
