And the governor added the article, “and according to the legal text, and because we are an elected governor and appointed by a republican decree, who is not mandated, we will conduct the work of the province until we are notified of the results of the legal challenge. for breaking the law."
Today, Monday, Salah al-Din Governor Ammar Jabr Khalil issued an official document that included his re-appointment as a governor despite his dismissal by the Iraqi parliament, while the new governor, Ismail Khudair Halloub Agency responded by preventing dealing with “al-Maqal” and making administrative changes, the most important of which is changing his office manager.
The Iraqi parliament had decided to dismiss the former governor, Ammar Jabr Khalil, after accusations of corruption were brought by investigative committees.
Ammar Khalil Jabr has held the position since 2018 within the Jamahiriya Party, which split from it during the last elections, joining a coalition led by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.
On the twenty-fifth of this month, the first administrative deputy of Salah al-Din Governor Ismail al-Haloub was sworn in as acting governor instead of the dismissed governor, Ammar Jabr Khalil, according to a decision by Al-Kazemi.
Al-Haloub, who belongs to the National Masses Party led by Ahmed al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen), took the position in accordance with the constitutional articles that stipulate that the first deputy assume the position of governor in the event of his dismissal or leaving the position.
The powers of inauguration and dismissal of governors are subject to the former provincial councils, while the powers have been transferred to the Prime Minister, and he is not entitled to implement the powers under the current caretaker government.
