The Central Bank of Iraq to Shafak News: Our loans revived the housing sector
Shafaq News/ The Central Bank confirmed, on Tuesday, that it had revived the housing sector in Iraq through the initiative of granting loans granted.
The deputy governor of the bank, Ammar Khalaf, told Shafak News Agency; That "for the purpose of reducing the housing crisis, the bank set the loan amounts to reach 5 trillion dinars for each one of the Real Estate Bank and the Housing Bank, which began granting loans to citizens to buy housing units."
He continued, "The bank is also continuing the initiative of a trillion private banks to provide housing loans with very subsidized interest and with a repayment period of up to 20 years," stressing that "the lending initiative has revived the housing sector in Iraq."
Iraq is suffering from a stifling housing crisis due to the increasing number of Iraq's population and the limited housing complexes, in addition to the citizen's inability to build his own housing unit due to the high cost of land and construction materials.
