    , Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi affirmed, today, Tuesday, his support for the demonstrations in accordance with the legal and constitutional contexts.


    Al-Halbousi said in a tweet followed by Alsumaria News, "We support the demonstrations in accordance with the legal and constitutional contexts, in a manner that preserves the state and its institutions and protects its existence, but our rivalry should not be with the judiciary, which we all resort to if we dispute."

    This morning, a number of Sadrists' supporters gathered in front of the Supreme Judicial Council building in the Green Zone in the capital, Baghdad.

     
    And the Supreme Judicial Council decided, earlier today, Tuesday, to suspend its work, its courts and the Federal Court in protest against the demonstrations.
     
    The Supreme Judicial Council also announced the initiation of procedures for collecting evidence about the threat of the Federal Court.
     
    In a statement, the council said, "The First Karkh Investigation Court has started procedures for collecting evidence of the crime of threatening the Federal Court to take legal measures against the perpetrators."
